Odessa College plans registration

Registration for Odessa College's fall semester will be Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 22 and 23, with classes beginning Monday, Aug. 27.

New and returning students who did not pre-register will start the registration process at the tent-covered area on the north side of the Student Union Building.

Students with last names beginning A-L will register 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Aug. 22. Students with last names beginning M-Z will register 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Aug. 23.

To speed up the registration process, new students are urged to submit an application for admission prior to registration. Applications are available in the OC catalog and from the OC Admissions Office and Web site.

Students may arrange to pay tuition with a short-term loan, allowing scheduled payments throughout the semester. Loans include a $15 fee and require a 10 percent down payment.

Students who have completed at least 15 semester hours at OC may apply for federal loans. Scholarships, state and federal grants, and college work-study also are available. Students are encouraged to apply early for these programs. Funds for some programs do not become available until later in the semester.

Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident tuition rates.

New students must furnish an official transcript and may be required to provide TASP scores depending on course requirements. All transfer students must furnish an official transcript and TASP scores.
