Green graduated with a Bachelor's of Art Degree

Edward Foster Green graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor's of Art Degree.

Green received his law degree during the 30th Annual Hooding of Candidates for the Degree of Juris Doctor and Advanced Degrees from Deman School of Law, Southern Methodist University.

The graduation ceremony was held at 1 p.m., on May 19, at the Law School Quadrangle.

Green is the son of Jane and Judge Lee Green of Pecos.

Southern Methodist University opened in the fall of 1915 and graduated its first class in the spring of 1916. This is the University's 84th Annual Commencement Convocation.

The School of Law at SMU was established in February 1925. It is a member of the Association of American Law Schools and is approved by the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association.

The first law school class graduated in 1928 with 11 members. This, the 74th graduating class, consists of 216 candidates for the Juris Doctor degree, one candidate for the combined degree of Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration, 36 candidates for the Master of Laws degree (Comparative and International Law), seven candidates for the Master of Laws degree (Taxation), four candidates for the Master of Laws Degree, and one candidate for the degree of Doctor of the Science of Law.

Barragan selected for All-Stars

Chris Barragan, son of Jimmy and Teri Barragan, of Balmorhea, has been selected to participate in the TX All-Star Six-Man Coaches Association All-Star Basketball Game.

Barragan will be playing for the West Division in the All-Star Basketball game this Saturday, July 21, at the Rip Griffin Center at Lubbock at 2:30 p.m.

Along with this honor, he has also been named to the All-District First Team Point Guard, Second Team All-Region Point Guard and All-District First Team Defensive Tackle.

Barragan plans to attend Odessa College in the fall and major in Sports Medicine.

Other Balmorhea All-Star Players include Billy Lozano All-Star Football and Terry Hernandez, All-Star Basketball.
