Bramblett, Renz exchange marriage vows in Pecos

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bramblett and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Renz would like to announce the marriage of Kittie Colleen Bramblett to Brian Scott Gibson. The couple was married on June 9, in Pecos.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Ft. Hancock High School and a 2001 graduate of Sul Ross State University. She will be employed by the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD. She will be teaching as well as coaching.

He is a 1993 graduate of Pecos High School and a 1999 graduate from Sul Ross State University. For the past two years he has been employed as a teacher and coach for the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD. The couple will reside here in Pecos.
 

Workman gets degree from UNT

Lindley Renee Workman of Pecos graduated from the University of North Texas during spring commencement ceremonies.

Workman received a bachelor of arts degree with a major in radio, television and film.

With an enrollment of more than 27,000, UNT is the fourth-largest university in Texas and the most comprehensive in the North Central Texas area.

The university offers more than 130 undergraduate and graduate degree majors in nine schools and colleges. Since its establishment in 1890, UNT has granted more than 140,000 degrees.

She was named to the President's Honor Roll for the spring semester 2001.

To be named to the President's Honor Roll, undergraduates must complete at least 12 academic hours during the semester with a perfect grade point average of 4.0.

Workman remains at UNT where she started her graduate studies on June 1 and is an Assistant Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction at the University.

She is the daughter of Emma and Jerry Workman of Pecos.
 

Ramon attends justices seminar

Judge Amonario P. Ramon was certified at the recent Twenty Hour Justice of the Peace Seminar held March 25-28, in San Antonio.

The seminar was sponsored by the Texas Justice Court Training Center, a division of Southwest Texas State University, with offices in Austin.

The seminar is one of five held for elected Justices of the Peace so they can fulfill their Continuing Judicial Education Requirements as set forth in Article 27.005 of the Texas Government Code. The seminar addressed topics such as Judicial Ethics, Judicial Decision Making, Property Code, Contracts, Torts, Magistrate Duties and Consulate Issues, Alcohol/Tobacco Laws, Pre and Post Trial Issues, Rules of Evidence, Miscellaneous Hearings and Trial Procedure.
