Rodriguez gets degree from Texas Tech

Steven Lujan Rodriguez, son of Rogelio Rodriguez and Irma Lujan, graduated from Texas Tech School of Pharmacy on May 20 with his doctor of pharmacy degree.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's Amarillo-based School of Pharmacy graduated its second class of Pharm.D. Degree holders at the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza.

Fifty-nine students earned their doctor of pharmacy degrees, three of whom were professional pharmacists who returned to school as part of the TxPharm program to earn their doctorates.

Nelson said this year's pharmacy graduates will enter a job market clamoring for the services of doctors of pharmacy who are able to play a front line role in the provision of health care.

"The job market is especially short of the kind of pharmacists we're educating," he said.
