Walser completes basic training
PECOS, May 1, 2001 - Air Force Airman Amanda K. Walser has graduated from
basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission,
organization, and customs and received special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward
an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
She is the daughter of Sherry Walser of Elk Creek, Mo., and the granddaughter
of Anne Burke of Pecos.
OC schedules award banquet
PECOS, May 1, 2001 - The Odessa College Athletic Awards Banquet will be
held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at the OC Sports Center.
The banquet honors outstanding student athletes for the 2000-2001 season.
Tickets are $8 and available at the door.
