Balog, a former Pecos resident and 1980 graduate of Pecos High School, has been awarded the Cecil & Ida Green Master Teaching Chair in Physical Science at St. Marks School of Texas in Dallas. The award is an endowed chair at St. Marks School of Texas, and it is like getting tenure at a university and is considered a big honor. Balog is the son of Steve Balog and the late Helen Balog of Pecos. Scholastic Book Fair planned PECOS, March 5, 2001 - Austin Elementary School, first and second grades, will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, beginning Monday, March 5 through Friday, March 9. Hours for the book fair will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m, in Room 16. Everyone is invited to come in and browse.
