Courses originally scheduled for Pyote have been moved to the new Monahans Extension Center at 9th and Alice streets in Monahans.

Registration will be at the Pecos Center, Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-7:30 p.m. During Pecos Center registration, students may enroll in any class Odessa College offers. Classes start at 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 21.

The OC Fall 2000 class schedule provides a complete list of available courses and also is accessible online via OC's Web Site.

Odessa College offers a number of classes over the Internet. Students registering for these courses should have technology sufficient to access the World Wide Web.

Students may arrange to pay tuition in three installments with one-half due on the day of registration or with a short-term loan which requires a 10 percent down payment. A $15 fee is charged for both payment methods.

Students who have completed 15 semester hours at OC may apply for federal loans. State and federal grants also are available. Funds from these programs do not become available until later in the semester.

Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident tuition rates.

Thomasson attends summer camp

Each summer, as parents begin searching for summertime activities for their children, often, the choices are limited for parents whose children have disabilities. However, thanks to the Lions Club of Texas, many children with physical disabilities can look forward to an experience that all children dream about _ going to summer camp! The Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville offers special camping programs that serve children who have physical disabilities and diabetes.

This summer, Jessica Thomasson of Pecos attended the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville; Jessica was sponsored by Gilbert S. Abila of the Pecos Downtown Lions Club.

The Texas Lions Club Camp offers camping sessions to children ages seven through 16 who have visual, hearing or physical disabilities. The camp offers a wide variety of activities for campers' enjoyment, including arts and crafts, field sports, riding horses, swimming, theater, and camping out overnight. All activities are adapted so that each child can succeed. The camp is a nonprofit organization, funded by the Lions of Texas and private donations. Children attend the camp at no cost to themselves or their families.

Further information and camper applications may be obtained by contacting a Lions Club member in your area or by contacting the Texas Lions Camp at P.O. Box 290247, Kerrville, Tx. 78029-0247; V/TDD (830)-896-8500; fax: (830)-896-3666. The Texas Lions Camp can also be found on the World Wide Web at
