Registration for OC set
Registration for Odessa College's Summer II session and advance registration
for the fall will be held 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday, July 10. Late registration
for Summer II will be held 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Tuesday, July 11. All
registration will be held at the Registrar's Office on the second floor
of the Student Union Building.
Students are encouraged to apply early for financial aid.

from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, during the summer
or visit the Odessa College web page at http://www.odessa.edu.
Lazcano, Patino announce July wedding plans
E.C. and Socorro Lazcano, of Pecos, announce the engagement and approaching
marriage of their daughter, Valeria F. Lazcano to Sergio J. Patino.
Patino is the son of Simon and Graciela Patino, of Pecos. He attended
Pecos High School and is currently employed by Anchor West.
The bride to be is attended Pecos High School, Odessa College Police
Academy and studied law enforcement and criminal justice. She is currently
employed by the Reeves County Sheriff's Office as a matron/communications.
The couple plan to wed at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at the Reeves County
Sheriff's Posse Barn. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Ybarras' celebrate birthdays
Lorenzo Antonio III and Adalis Mirella Ybarra celebrated their birthday
with a party held in their honor recently.
Lorenzo celebrated his third birthday and theme for his party was WWF
The Rock, while Adalis celebrated her first birthday with a Winnie The
Pooh theme.
They received many clothes and toys and were joined by family and friends.
They are the children of Lorenzo Antonio Jr. and Mirella Ybarra.
Grandparents are Oscar and Eva Muniz and Lorenzo Antonio Sr. and Santos
Ybarra.
Parent named to Dean's List
Texas A&M University has named its honor students for the 2000 spring
semester, recognizing several thousand students for outstanding academic
performance.
Mikel Forrest Parent, of Pecos, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll List.
He is a senior English major.
The Dean's Honor roll recognizes students taking at least 15 semester
hours who have maintained at least a 3.75 grade point ratio (GPR) out of
a possible 4.0 during the most recent grading period.
A second designation, "Distinguished Student," recognizes students who
earned a 3.25 to 3.75 GPR while taking at least 15 hours.
Workman inducted into honor society
The University of North Texas held its annual induction ceremony for Phi
Kappa Phi on April 20.
From Pecos, senior Lindley Workman was inducted at this time. She is
the daughter of Jerry and Emmy Workman.
Phi Kappa Phi is one of the oldest and most respected academic honor
societies with charters located on college and universities campuses throughout
the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Phillipines.
Members elected include the upper five percent of last terms juniors
and the upper ten percent of seniors.
