Taylor nets degree from Angelo State

Christy Lea Taylor, of Pecos, received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood at Angelo State University.

She was among 450 students receiving degrees during the Spring commencement ceremonies at the university.

Taylor is a 1996 graduate of Pecos High School.

She is the daughter of Carlton and Kay Taylor of Pecos.

Tarango receives law degree

Felix Tarango of Pecos, was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH, at commencement ceremonies held May 20.

Tarango received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos in 1993.

He is a 1982 graduate of Pecos High School and the son of Seferina T. Polanco of Pecos.

His wife Terra, formerly from San Marcos, attended the ceremony.

After graduation Tarango will work for the Office of the Attorney General in Texas.

Bluegrass festival planned

West Texas Blue Grass Association will sponsor the 2000 Summerfest Bluegrass Festival on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th, at Andrews County (Florey) Park, eight miles north and two miles east of Andrews.

Several bands will be performing including, Sundown of Odessa, Texas Country, Odessa, Cherry Creek of Odessa, Texas Grass of Pecos, String Fever of Midland and The Gospel Revue of Odessa. Other bands will be named later.

Guest bands are welcome

No admission will be charged and showtimes will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
