Study Club plans meeting
The Modern Study Club will meet at 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 22, at
the Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, for a Texas Heritage Department
Program with Laura Teal, department chairman in charge.
Mrs. Teal will present the program, "Sam Houston _ Senator, Soldier,
Teacher."
The thought-quote for the meeting is, "Of all my positions and stations
in life, the one that gave me a higher feeling of dignity and self-satisfaction
than any other was teaching school." Sam Houston.
Roll call is to be answered by naming a job or position held by Sam
Houston.
The bi-monthly project emphasis for this meeting is the club's participation
in Special Olympics.
Doris Moorman and Gretchen Luna will serve as hostesses for the gathering.
Club members, and also anyone in the community, interested in the club
project concerning donations to the U.T.M.D. Anderson Cancer Research in
Houston are reminded to get them in soon. The items can be packed as they
come in so the job will be easier at the shipment deadline in early April.
